Radically Inclusive. Unapologetically Accessible.
At Mitchell College this is our definition of what a college education can be. Since our founding in 1938 we have been realizing what’s possible for those pursuing higher education. We see opportunities rather than limitations, push past boundaries rather than being defined by them, and celebrate and cultivate individuals and communities that are sometimes marginalized by pulling them into the center.
Our mission is to provide accessible, personal education, and we embody it with a clear vision and sustained action. Every day our students are empowered to explore and uncover new sides of themselves on their way to fulfilling futures, while we continue to challenge the status quo in higher education.

Our Students Are Proving What’s Possible
At Mitchell we see possibility in everyone. We don’t weed out; we weave in. In higher education, that can be considered a radical idea. A high school grad needing a transition before entering college, a student-athlete juggling practice and schoolwork to get into the Honors program, a working adult dreaming of finishing their degree, a first-generation student without a support system, a person with autism who has struggled academically—we see their possibilities and empower them to find purpose and fulfillment at Mitchell.
Every day we witness how Mitchell helps students discover what they are capable of, and we’re proud of every story that has proven what’s radically possible. In doing so we elevate and intentionally celebrate differences: in learning style, ethnic background, racial identity, gender identity, socioeconomic position, or life experience.

Come Celebrate with Us on October 5
On October 5 the Mitchell College community will be coming together for “85 Years of Radical Possibilities, A Gala Celebration” focusing on the future to empower the next generation of learners. You’ll enjoy an elegant dining experience and opportunity for inspiration and connection with Mitchell students, alumni, faculty, staff, influencers, decision-makers, and supporters who care about higher education.
100% of net proceeds will directly benefit Mitchell College students
At Mitchell we see opportunity in each person rather than limitations, push past boundaries rather than be defined by them, and celebrate and cultivate individuals and communities that are sometimes marginalized by pulling them into the center. We don’t weed out; we weave in.
