Mitchell holds a unique place in the higher ed landscape
Diversity and academic support is in our DNA.
Our students hail from across the country and world. 36% are students of color and 22% report as first generation college students. In addition, Mitchell College sees the intrinsic value of including students with diverse ways of thinking. Estimates suggest 20% of people have learning differences, including perhaps 33% of entrepreneurs. True to our history, Mitchell College continues to offer deep and personalized attention to all of our students, including those with learning differences. In fact 35% of our students access one of our Living & Learning academic and social support programs. Our commitment to teaching to individual learning styles is unwavering. The Bentsen Learning Center and Thames at Mitchell both earn acclaim from parents and students, we introduced the new Mystic Program in 2019, and we routinely rank among the top colleges in the country for LD programs.
But that’s not the end of the story. The Mitchell College mission of celebrating and developing the power of unique minds makes us a particularly strong choice for many students.
