Program Overview
The Bachelor of Arts in Professional Studies is an online degree completion program for adult learners who have earned college credits and are seeking to complete their degree. The program is designed specifically for busy adults who may be juggling work and family obligations and need a flexible and supportive college program. Under an instructor’s guidance, students learn at their own pace to complete a course in 8 weeks (5 weeks in summer). Students can start the program in whichever term they are ready—spring, summer, or fall—and may take courses throughout the year to accelerate completion, choosing from one of two tracks.
Business Track
The field of business offers a versatile area of study that develops critical skills in leadership, communication, and strategic thinking. Whether focused on management, marketing, entrepreneurship, or finance, students gain a strong foundation to navigate and succeed in today’s fast-paced, global economy. Business studies prepare individuals to adapt, innovate, and make informed decisions across a wide range of industries.
Health and Human Services Track
Studying health and human services provides students with the knowledge and practical experience to support individual and community well-being. This area of study is ideal for those drawn to service-oriented careers in healthcare, social work, or community outreach. As the demand for skilled, compassionate professionals continues to rise, health and human services equips students to meet today’s workforce needs with empathy, advocacy, and impact.
Build Transferable Skills
This accelerated program will help students develop transferable skills needed to succeed in the workplace, including:
- INTERPERSONAL AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS to foster positive and professional relationships
- CRITICAL AND CREATIVE THINKING SKILLS to gain the confidence needed to generate new ideas, analyze and solve problems, and reflect on their own values and experiences
- An APPRECIATION FOR DIVERSITY to understand that the way each person interprets and interacts with the world correlates with their own identity, culture, and personal experiences

STUDENT STORY: A Fast Track to Becoming A Certified Teacher

When her husband’s company experienced numerous layoffs, Joelle Goetz decided it was time to seize the moment, go back to school, and complete the necessary credits to earn her bachelor’s degree. She was able to transfer business credits that she had earned when she lived in France to the business track of the Professional Studies program at Mitchell College.
“My advisor made everything so easy. She showed me what credits transferred and what classes to take. I didn’t have to come up with a plan. I didn’t have to pick my classes. She gave me the whole plan—it is a package and it’s wonderful. I don’t have to worry. She is extremely helpful.” READ FULL STORY
