Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership (MSMOL)

Program Overview

The Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership (MSMOL) is an applied graduate program designed to prepare professionals for leadership roles in mission-driven organizations, nonprofit institutions, community-based enterprises, and other environments requiring ethical decision-making, inclusive leadership, and human-centered organizational practice.

The program emphasizes applied learning, strategic communication, intercultural leadership, and organizational analysis. Students complete a 30-credit curriculum that integrates online asynchronous coursework, synchronous faculty-led seminars, and periodic intensive learning experiences.

Instructional Format

The MSMOL program is delivered in a hybrid/low-residency format.

 Students engage in:

  • Asynchronous online coursework
  • Scheduled synchronous virtual seminars
  • Periodic intensive sessions held either on campus or virtually
  • Faculty-guided case analysis and project-based learning
  • A culminating Organizational Strategy Capstone experience

This format is designed to support working professionals while ensuring meaningful faculty interaction and robust academic engagement.

Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the MSMOL program will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and professional behaviors needed to lead effectively in complex organizational environments.
  2. Evaluate leadership challenges from cultural, ethical, and operational perspectives using appropriate professional methods to enhance organizational performance.
  3. Analyze contemporary social, economic, environmental, and geopolitical factors shaping organizations and develop responsive leadership strategies.

Degree Requirements

The MSMOL requires the successful completion of 30 graduate credits, including:

  • 27 credits of core coursework
  • 3-credit Organizational Strategy Capstone
  • Optional Graduate Practicum (0 credits) for students with fewer than three years of professional experience

Optional Practicum MOL600 Graduate Practicum (0 credits) Required for students entering the program with fewer than three years of full-time professional experience, the practicum provides 400 hours of supervised applied experience.

Students develop a learning agreement and complete reflective assignments to connect academic learning with organizational practice.

Technology and Learning Expectations

Students must have reliable access to:

  • The learning management system (Moodle/OpenLMS)
  • A computer capable of streaming video and participating in synchronous online sessions
  • Productivity software (Microsoft Office)
  • Stable Internet access

All graduate students participate in an online orientation introducing program expectations, technology requirements, and academic resources.

Academic Policies

Graduate students must maintain:

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Continuous progress toward degree completion
  • Adherence to institutional academic integrity and professional conduct policies

All graduate policies regarding academic standing, grading, course repeats, time to degree, and academic appeals apply to MSMOL students and are outlined in the Graduate Catalog.

Time to Degree

Students may complete the MSMOL in:

  • 1 year (full-time)
  • 2 years (part-time)


All requirements must be completed within five years of initial enrollment.

Cost and Financial Information

  • Tuition: $500 per credit
  • Estimated program tuition: $15,000 for full-time students
  • Part-time students pay $7,500 annually
  • Official tuition and fee schedules are published annually
