Thames announces New May MiniMester Conservation and Field Biology Course at Mystic Aquarium.

Thames at Mitchell is pleased to offer to current Thames students a unique Science course (3 credits) in collaboration with Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, CT from May 7-18, 2018. The course begins the Monday after the Thames Celebration on May 5, and runs Mondays-Fridays (10 days) as a minimester course. The course – Conservation and Field Biology – is the perfect mix of field based experiences and classroom programming. Concentrating on six conservation themes throughout the course, students will discover the pressures affecting ecosystems around the world, conservation efforts in place to protect species, and participate in outdoor based, field ecology studies. This course is designed to fully immerse students in outdoor educational opportunities. The curriculum has been developed and will by taught by the scientists at Mystic Aquarium. Thames End of Year Certificate Ceremony & Celebration

Saturday, May 5, 2018
11:00 a.m.
The ceremony will be held at the Clarke Center on the campus of Mitchell College and a light reception will follow in the Weller Center. RSVP by April 20 with number of guests attending to: Tracy Geary at geary_t@mitchell.edu
*Note: After the Ceremony, beginning at 12:30pm, Thames Campus Life staff will be available to begin checking students out of their rooms.
