Children’s Learning Center - Assistant Teacher (3 or More Positions)

Position Summary

The Children’s Learning Center at Mitchell College is a preschool program that serves the children and families in Southeastern Connecticut. The program provides multiple opportunities to address a family’s need for quality education. Emphasis is placed on family involvement, creating a link between the home and school, and ensuring that family members are actively involved in their child’s early educational experience. The curriculum infuses a Reggio Emilia inspired approach based on principles that make children partners in the learning process. The classroom environment is shaped by each child’s unique curiosity. As a laboratory school, the Children’s Learning Center guides Mitchell College students to achieve their educational and professional goals through diverse and challenging internships.

Teacher Assistants for the Children’s Learning Center at Mitchell College program assist the Head Teacher in planning and implementing learning experiences that advance the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of children within a safe, healthy learning environment. They encourage the involvement of the families and children of the program and support the development of relationships between children and their families. The person in this position understands the importance of early childhood education, with the knowledge of appropriate practice, and can step into the teacher’s role during his/her absence. These positions will have a schedule of up to 29 hours per week and must have availability to work Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6am and 6pm.

Facilities & Grounds - Groundskeeper

Position Summary

Mitchell College is currently seeking a full-time groundskeeper, who will ensure that the grounds, athletic fields and exterior facilities are properly maintained, aesthetically pleasing and safe for employees and students. Grounds positions are day shift, Monday through Friday, with on-call availability for emergencies.
