Position Summary

Mitchell College is building upon our very successful First Year Experience and is searching for adjunct professors who want to be a part of our exciting liberal arts model and distinctive approach to education. Thames at Mitchell College - Instructional Specialist

Position Summary

Mitchell College is pioneering a new liberal arts model, designed to enhance the student’s academic experience and ensure real-world degree applicability through cross collaborations. This methodology extends to all that we do, including Thames at Mitchell College, a college transition program for students with learning differences or students who would benefit from additional preparation to succeed in college. Unique in the landscape of gap-year programs, as it’s located on a college campus, students experience an immersive and authentic transition, while making strong social and academic connections. Thames students live together in a distinct community and actively participate in the College’s robust social activities, clubs, and events.

To build upon our successful approach, we are looking for an Instructional Specialist, who will assist students in navigating their educational and social experience within the living/learning community at Thames. Reporting to the Director, this position plays an integral role in teaching classes, advising students, leading clubs/activities, and providing support and co-curricular guidance of Thames students. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the energy to thrive within a fast-paced work environment, possess a genuine appreciation of adolescents, an understanding of the social /emotional academic needs of transitional populations, a sense of humor, and the ability to work collaboratively.

Bentsen Learning Center - Learning Specialist

Position Summary

Mitchell College is pioneering a new liberal arts model, designed to enhance the student’s academic experience and ensure real-world degree applicability through cross collaborations. This methodology extends to all that we do, including our approach to supporting students through a highly individualized educational model. To that end, we are seeking a full-time (9-month) Learning Specialist, who will support a roster of students with documented learning disabilities and/or ADHD in individual and small group sessions by teaching skills and strategies required for successful acquisition of college level learning and career readiness. Learning Specialists collaborate closely with all facets of the Campus, including faculty, Campus Life, Advising and Health and Wellness, to ensure a holistic approach to student success. Staff also actively engage with students and participate in activities on the Campus, including evenings and weekends.

Academic Affairs - Advisor

Position Summary

Mitchell College is pioneering a new liberal arts model, designed to enhance the student’s academic experience and ensure real-world degree applicability through cross collaborations. This methodology extends to all that we do, including our approach to advising, which will be accomplished through a highly individualized approach to meeting the needs of our students. To that end, we are seeking a full-time (10-month) Advisor, who will serve as a clearinghouse for students regarding most of their academic concerns. Following a holistic approach, the AA is responsible for day-to-day advising of students regarding their many pursuits including their class selection/schedule and the path to graduation. Advisors collaborate closely with Campus Life staff as partners and are assigned to a primary advisee group ranging from 60 to 100 students. In addition, Advising staff are required to actively engage with students and participate in activities in conjunction with Campus Life, including evenings and weekends.

Appointment Period: 10 month positions are from August 1 to May 31. All Advisors are expected to assist with the summer orientation program which may involve isolated days in June and/or July.

Enrollment - Director of Relationship Management

Position Summary

Mitchell College is pioneering a new liberal arts model, designed to enhance the student’s academic experience and ensure real-world degree applicability through cross collaborations. This methodology extends to all that we do, including our approach to Enrollment Management, which will be accomplished through a highly individualized approach to meeting the needs of our students and their families. To that end, we are seeking a full-time Director of Relationship Management, who will be responsible for cultivating those new student relationships on campus. The incumbent will work in partnership with the Mitchell College community to creatively encourage prospective students to consider a Mitchell College education.

Additional responsibilities include building a strong internal admissions staff and assisting the VP of Enrollment Management in creating an aggressively resourceful on-campus experience for our guests, including orientation. The Director of Relationship Management will oversee staff, who will help manage all aspects of the incoming student experience from inquiry to enrollment.

Marketing - Marketing and Communications Specialist

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and supporting the communication and marketing needs of the College, the incumbent will be responsible for web content, branding and standardization, communications support, along with tending to the social media needs of the College with a specific emphasis on Enrollment Management (Admissions and Financial Aid). This entails the creation of materials to be used under multiple channels of marketing/communications including, but not limited to, direct mail pieces, email, internet, print media, advertising, and social media, which must be able to influence decision makers (incoming students/parents and others) for enrollment and increase Mitchell’s brand awareness in the higher-ed sector. The incumbent must be adept at web design/management and will need to employ graphic design experience. Occasional evening and weekend work required.

Advancement - Advancement Services and Stewardship Coordinator

Position Summary

Mitchell College is searching for a dynamic and self-sufficient Advancement Services and Stewardship Coordinator, who will serve as an integral member of the Institutional Advancement team and report directly to the Vice President for Advancement. By working closely with other members of the team, as well as members of the College finance department, the incumbent will be responsible for prospect research, database management, gift processing, stewardship, donor acknowledgments and varied reporting. This position has significant responsibilities in the comprehensive management of the donor database (Raiser’s Edge/NetCommunity), which supports the stewardship and fundraising activities of Mitchell College.

Campus Safety Officer

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Campus Safety, but under indirect supervision, Campus Safety Officers provide for the safety and wellbeing of Mitchell College students, faculty, staff and property through the education and enforcement of College policies and procedures. Campus Safety Officers respond to calls for assistance including emergency and crisis situations, and provide other services to the College community. Campus Safety Officers are assigned to security details for Mitchell College athletic events and social functions and may be required to work evenings and weekends as operationally necessary. This position is considered “essential personnel” and will be required to work during emergencies, inclement weather and campus closures as directed.

Currently, we are hiring for 3rd shift, which is 11pm to 7am, Tuesday through Saturday.

Facilities - Housekeeping/Custodial Staff

Position Summary

Mitchell College is searching for two (2) evening shift housekeepers, who will be responsible for daily cleaning tasks throughout various areas of the College, operating under our Facilities Services Department. This position is 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 5:00pm to 1:30am. 2nd shift housekeepers are also eligible for a shift differential of $.25 per hour, in addition to a generous benefits package and tuition benefits for themselves and their immediate family*.

The rate of pay is $10.10 per hour, plus shift differential, and the start date will be as soon as possible.
