Assistant/Associate Professor - Cross-Disciplinary

Position Summary

Mitchell College is building on its long history of making liberal arts education more accessible by developing a curriculum which is strength based and interest driven. Mitchell teaches adaptable skills and a core academic discipline curriculum and provides multiple opportunities for students to apply skills in different learning and professional contexts. To keep this model vibrant and responsive to students’ interests, the faculty seek to build cross-disciplinary collaborations and ensure real-world applicability, both in core curriculum and in dynamic new concentrations of study. With this liberal arts model in mind, students learn the adaptive skills they need to live life well, professionally and personally.

To support this new model, the College is seeking three new full-time faculty members (either assistant or associate level) with experience in the fields of Business Administration, Criminal Justice or Behavioral Science, who also share a passion and history of teaching a cross-disciplinary curriculum.

Title/Rank will be assigned based on the applicant’s educational background and applicable experience. Faculty at Mitchell are appointed on a 10/12-month academic year calendar, are FLSA exempt and represented by the AFT Local 3249 collective bargaining unit. Adjunct Professors - FYE

Position Summary

Mitchell College is building upon our very successful First Year Experience and is searching for adjunct professors who want to be a part of our exciting liberal arts model and distinctive approach to education. By blending a hands-on learning experience with expert instruction and guidance, our FYE program is the foundation to the freshman year, and beyond. Liberal arts at Mitchell serves a population of students who may not have reached their potential or experienced the level of success they are capable of achieving, for a dynamically changing future. By utilizing our Ability Based Educational model (ABE), the entire College engages with students, both in and out of the classroom, to ensure that they have the essential skills and readiness for leading full and productive lives post-graduation.

To support this model, the College is seeking adjunct members with backgrounds in teaching, with an emphasis on English/Writing, Technology Instruction, and/or Public Speaking/Presentation Skills.

Facilities - Housekeeping/Custodial Staff

Position Summary

Mitchell College is searching for two (2) evening shift housekeepers, who will be responsible for daily cleaning tasks throughout various areas of the College, operating under our Facilities Services Department. This position is 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 5:00pm to 1:30am. 2nd shift housekeepers are also eligible for a shift differential of $.25 per hour, in addition to a generous benefits package and tuition benefits for themselves and their immediate family*.

These are full-time (40-hr per week), FLSA non-exempt level positions and are paid bi-weekly. The rate of pay is $10.10 per hour, plus shift differential, and the start date will be as soon as possible. All successful applicants must pass a criminal and/or DMV background check prior to their start date.
