The Dove Real Beauty Workshop for Girls is a FREE, fun, educational and interactive session for young girls ages 8-12 and their adult female mentors: mothers, relatives, friends, anyone interested in starting a dialogue on beauty and self-image with a member of the next generation. Students in the Mitchell College Behavioral Science Club and Psychology of Women class will present the 11th annual workshop on Thursday, March 21 from 6-7:30pm at Mitchell College’s Weller Center.
By attending, you’ll learn how society creates “ideal” images of beauty and how to engage young girls in a healthy dialogue about self-esteem. The ninety-minute program begins at 6 p.m. in the Weller Center and is designed to promote self-esteem in girls partly through educating girls about a wider definition of beauty. The curriculum is provided by the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, and the workshop will be led by current Mitchell College students.
To register, please contact Jennifer Mauro at (860)701-7719 or email email@example.com. The Weller Center is located on the main campus at Mitchell College between Montauk and Pequot Avenues. Guests are asked to park on Montauk Avenue or in the Pequot Avenue lot.
