Fall Open House

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

RBRibbonCutting_SquareWe would like to invite the entire Mitchell College community to officially unveil our new, iconic Red Barn event space with a ribbon cutting ceremony from 5:00pm-5:30pm on Thursday, October 11.
The ribbon cutting will be held in front of the Red Barn doors on the side closest to the commuter parking lot. There will be a special performance by the Mitchell College Select Chorus to conclude the event and a sweet treat to enjoy afterwards. Following the public ceremony, a special celebratory dinner in Milner Dining Hall for all students, faculty, staff and special guests. Tickets for the dinner will be available for purchase at the dining hall – cash or credit card. Students can swipe with their meal plan allowances.

Mitchell College Select Chorus Auditions

SelectChorusLogo_WebAuditions for the Select Chorus will be held from August 27-September 21! Students who are interested should sign up for audition times on sheets posted outside NH112, or contact Jonathan Babbitt at (860)701-7987 or babbitt_j@mitchell.edu.

Instrumental students interested in private lessons, or establishing an ensemble (classical, jazz, rock, soul, etc.) should also contact Jonathan Babbitt. There is no deadline for these interests.

Auditions for The Importance of Being Earnest

MCPlayers_WebAuditions for the fall production of The Importance of Being Earnest will be held September 17 from 7-9pm and September 18, 6-8pm in Clarke Center. Students may attend one or both nights, and auditions are open to all – many students have their first theater experience at Mitchell and find their voice, discovering a hidden love for the art! Dr. Walter “Skip” Moore, Ph.D. Class of `62 will share a talk titled: “Not a Stepping Stone but a Launching Pad: Mitchell College’s Effect upon my Life and Career.”
As owner and clinical director of his own private practice, Dr. Moore changed the lives of his community for 15 years by directing therapists in a team approach to rehabilitation. Read more about him here.

Macbeth

Flock Theatre’s annual Halloween production of Macbeth to be performed in their new home, The Red Barn at Mitchell College. This will be the first full Flock production in the new space. Tickets: $20 Adults; $15 Students, Seniors, and Active Military. Special dinner performance details TBA. Performances will run October 25-28, at 7pm each evening at the Red Barn.

Radio Mitchell

Radio Mitchell is your voice to promote your club or department, announce events, rally Mariners for a big game, or just keep the campus informed. At least two weeks before an event email radiomitchell@mitchell.edu with complete information including date, time, location and whom to contact for more info. Write your own 30 to 60 second script or we’ll write one for you. We’ll air your announcement frequently. Reach the ears of the Mitchell community today!

Speakers Series with Dr. Walter Moore `62

SquareDr. Walter Moore `62 will share his personal journey from Mitchell College Freshman to Professor Emeritus at our first Speakers Series event of the year, on Wednesday, October 3 at the Red Barn at Mitchell College. While there were peaks and valleys along the way, the perseverance and confidence he learned during his two years at Mitchell allowed him to stay the course of pursuing his goal regardless of obstacles or criticism. On September 20, 2018 MoodleRooms will have a new name: Blackboard Open LMS. Login and functionality will remain the same. Students can look for this change on the Current Students page in the week ahead.
