edited_SamHillel Mitchell College invites all faculty, staff, students, and the public to join them for a talk titled, “From Mitchell College to Congress: Overcoming Adversity and Pursuing Justice” with Sam Gejdenson `68. This free event will be held at Weller Center at Mitchell College on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.

Born the son of Holocaust survivors in a displaced persons camp in Germany after WWII, Sam Gejdenson developed the ability to overcome the adversity he faced in life and to help others to do the same. Since graduating from Mitchell College in 1968, Mr. Gejdenson spent many years in public service in the Connecticut House of Representatives and then in the United States House of Representatives. Throughout his government career, Gejdenson dedicated himself to helping the underserved and he continues to share his expertise with organizations such as the Yale Center for Dyslexia & Creativity and the National Democratic Institute.
